Waves create energy and motion - a great metaphor for the leadership, investment and effort required to build businesses. Wave Leadership Ventures represents Rob Smoot's personal business (ad)ventures as a fractional executive, advisor and investor in enterprise software startups. Waves also create energy and memories for the Smoot family as they recharge on the beaches of Carmel, Hawaii and Rob's home town of Del Mar, California.

MEET ROB

Rob is a results-oriented executive, investor and advisor who for more than two decades has built great teams and businesses that disrupt industries and outperform peers.

Rob led strategy and business process transformation initiatives for software clients and Veritas Software. More recently as VP Marketing he led VMware's first two $1B+ businesses and then Snowflake from early stages through hypergrowth, building go-to-market functions from the ground up.

Rob invests capital in early stage ventures and commercial real estate with his wife Amanda. They love their community and enjoy the outdoors in Portola Valley where they live with 3 children, 2 dogs, many chickens and bunny!
